Eating Healthy Grains
September 14, 2010
There are many healthy whole grains out there that are great substitutes for pasta, rice or bread. Think items like quinoa, barley and polenta – all whole grains and all low on the glycemic index, so they’ll help stabilize blood sugar and keep insulin stable. I came across this Today show video of Mark Bittman, author of How to Cook Everything, showcasing some healthy grains and how to cook them. I hope this helps introduce you to some healthier options that you might not have tried before.
